Shaykh Yasir Fahmy graduated from Rutgers Business School. After working for a number of years in finance, he then moved to Egypt where he studied for eight years at Al-Azhar University. In his time at Al-Azhar, he attained numerous ‘ijazas (independent certifications) and studied under many notable teachers including Shaykh Ahmad Taha Ra

In 2013, Shaykh Yasir Fahmy became the first American Azhari to teach in the renowned Al-Azhar Mosque.

Ustadh AbdelRahman Murphy is an instructor at Qalam. He currently resides in Dallas, TX, with his wife and two children.

Ustadh Feraidoon Mojadedi is a community leader, lecturer, and entrepreneur in the Bay Area – California. Born in Herat, Afghanistan, he emigrated with his family to America during the Russian invasion of Afghanistan in 1985.
He grew up in a household with a deep love and reverence for poetry. At the age of five he began to memorize poems
